Thanks for saying this. I also am concerned about the ideology which was even taught to my UU congregation to let the child lead. Children as young as 8 are allowed to tell a therapist they don't like their gender and that's enough to go on puberty blockers, which is touted as "buying precious time" yet how do we know that the kids won't desist if allowed to go through puberty? There is so much concern about a child not liking the changes to their appearance that what is overlooked is any mental health issue that can be dealt with in other ways than permanently altering one's development. I have been reading a lot about this and agree that ROGD transitioned will be detransitioning in the future at high numbers and then we may realize what we have done to push healthy children into diagnoses that don't fit them.
